Carmine’s introduction to the food business began at the age of 15 in Brooklyn, NY, where he started as a food delivery boy. He worked his way up the ranks and learned all aspects of the business, from making fresh mozzarella and sausage, to cutting roasts and preparing entrees. At 21 years old, he was given the opportunity to run his own store in Stratford, CT. He started AS Italian Fine Foods of CT with the support of family and friends. Carmine expanded the business from being a traditional Italian pork store to a full service grocery store and butcher shop.
In 1993, Carmine moved his business to Fairfield, CT. Now known as A&S Italian Fine Foods, he has expanded his offerings by including top quality gourmet items, Certified Black Angus Meats, top quality poultry, pork and veal, and offering a larger variety of fresh pastas. The store also carries a large selection of hot and cold prepared entrees, soups & salads. A&S is recognized as one of the “Fairfield Top 50” by Fairfield Magazine, and was voted “Best Sandwich & Prepared Meals” by Fairfield County Weekly. We continue to provide the quality service and products that are recognized by a variety of publications and organizations, as well as by our loyal cutomers.
