A versatile cheese, Burrata can be enjoyed during any course of a meal, and we are going to show three different dishes that showcase it.
Caprese Salad with Burrata
Just because burrata is a complex cheese to make does not mean it requires a complex dish. Replace bocconcini (little mozzarella) with burattini (little burrata) in a Caprese Salad, and you have the heavenly trio of fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and burrata. Season with olive oil, salt, and pepper and you have a great opening dish. Pro tip: Gently cut burrata with a serrated knife to hold the inner filling.
Burrata with Pasta
Here at Battimelli’s A&S, we like to stick with simplicity. Simple ingredients can create mouthwatering dishes. Nothing screams simplicity more than pasta aglio e olio. Lightly fry chopped garlic and red pepper flake in olive oil. Simultaneously boil your favorite pasta. When the pasta reaches al dente, drain and add to your frying pan. Don’t forget some pasta water! Once plated, place a full-sized Burrata or several burattini on the pasta to transform this most simple of dishes. Add fresh basil and lightly drizzle some Partanna extra virgin olive oil on top!
Burrata with Prosciutto and Figs
Prosciutto for Dessert? This unusual combination of ingredients is a decadent way to end a meal. The creaminess of the burrata brings together the sweetness of the fig with the saltiness of the prosciutto. Use a sweeter prosciutto like a San Daniele to complement the other elements. Add a drizzle of honey for an extra level of sweetness.
